Cheers to Malaysian’s favourite, Wonton Soup! Learn how to make the superb, easy, light and comforting wonton soup that you can make right at home.
Ingredients:
- Dumpling wrappers (Wonton skins)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp yellow miso paste, or more to taste
- Baby Bok Choy
- Scallion, thinly chopped
For the Wontons:
- 250g medium shrimp, peeled, deveined & diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- Scallion, thinly chopped
- Ground black pepper
Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine the wontons ingredients.
- To assemble the wontons, place dumpling wrappers on a work surface. Spoon of the shrimp mixture into the center of each wrapper and wrap neatly.
- In a pot, sauce minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant. Then, add in the chicken broth and water. Bring to boil.
- Get in the baby Bok Choy, scallion, miso paste and stir well.
- And for the finale, get in all of the wontons into the soup. Cook for 5 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Serve hot!
